KUBERNETES · CI/CD · IAC

DevOps and container technology.

From Kubernetes clusters through CI/CD pipelines to Infrastructure as Code, development and operations brought into a unified framework, on-premise or in the cloud.

01 · KUBERNETES & CONTAINERISATION

Containers, orchestration, security.

We containerise applications, build and operate clusters, on VMware VCF Kubernetes Service, Azure AKS or standalone K8s clusters.

ORCHESTRATION

Kubernetes cluster design and operations

Cluster design, networking and storage configuration, RBAC and access management, Helm-based application deployment, and continuous monitoring.

K8s on-premiseVCF Kubernetes ServiceAzure AKSHelm
CONTAINERISATION

Docker and image management

Writing Dockerfiles, multi-stage builds, private registry (Harbor, ACR) and image security scanning.

NETWORKING

Service mesh and ingress

Ingress controller, load balancing, TLS termination and service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) where needed.

STORAGE

Persistent storage

StorageClasses, PersistentVolumes and CSI drivers, bound to vSAN, NFS or cloud storage.

SECURITY

K8s security

RBAC, Pod Security Standards, network policy, encrypted secrets (Vault, Sealed Secrets) and CIS benchmark.

INTEGRATION

VMware VCF + Kubernetes

VCF Kubernetes Service delivers enterprise-grade K8s on existing vSphere infrastructure, no separate bare-metal cluster needed. VCF details →

02 · CI/CD & GITOPS

Code goes to production automatically.

Building CI/CD pipelines that automatically test, build and deploy code, following GitOps principles, with auditable change management.

GitHub Actions, GitLab CI Azure DevOps Pipelines ArgoCD, Flux (GitOps) Automated testing & security scan
  1. 01Build and testUnit tests, integration tests, static code analysis and image scanning automatically on every push.
  2. 02Image build and registry pushDocker image built, tagged and pushed to the private registry, versioned and signed.
  3. 03GitOps deployArgoCD or Flux watches the Git repo, the Kubernetes cluster state always mirrors the code.
  4. 04Rollback and auditEvery change leaves a trail in Git history, reverting a commit also reverts production.
03 · INFRASTRUCTURE AS CODE

Infrastructure is code too, version-controlled, repeatable.

/01

Terraform

Declarative management of cloud and on-premise resources, Azure, VMware and other providers, modularised.

/02

Ansible

Configuration and maintenance of servers, network devices and applications, agentless, with YAML playbooks.

/03

Bicep / ARM (Azure)

Native IaC templates for Azure resources, unified management of Microsoft 365 and Azure infrastructure.

/04

Helm charts

Packaging Kubernetes applications and writing reusable Helm charts, versioned with value files.

/05

Secret management

HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault or Kubernetes Sealed Secrets, passwords and certificates never appear in code.

/06

State management and drift detection

Remote state (Terraform Cloud, Azure Storage), drift detection and automatic reconciliation with desired state.

04 · MONITORING & OBSERVABILITY

See what's happening, before it becomes a problem.

Metrics, logs and traces in one place, for containerised and traditional infrastructure alike.

METRICS

Prometheus + Grafana

Collection, storage and visualisation of cluster, node and application metrics, with custom dashboards.

LOGS

Centralised log management

Loki, ELK stack or Azure Monitor, every container and server log searchable in one place.

TRACING

Distributed tracing

OpenTelemetry-based trace collection, request tracing across microservices with Jaeger or Tempo.

ALERTING

Alerts and on-call

AlertManager, PagerDuty or Teams/Slack integration, the right person gets notified at the right time.

CAPACITY

Resource planning

Analysis of CPU and memory trends, HPA/VPA rules and node autoscaling configuration.

SECURITY

Runtime security

Falco-based runtime anomaly detection, unusual container behaviour triggers an immediate alert.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What you should know.

Can we run Kubernetes on our existing VMware environment?+

Yes. VMware Cloud Foundation includes Kubernetes Service, which runs K8s clusters on existing vSphere infrastructure, without separate bare-metal machines. This is one of the most natural paths to on-premise Kubernetes.

Do our existing applications need to be containerised?+

Not necessarily. Kubernetes is primarily ideal for new, cloud-native applications; existing monoliths can continue running on VMs. The scope of migration is always measured against real requirements and ROI.

We don't have a DevOps team, can you help us get started?+

Yes. We build the pipelines and infrastructure, document and hand them over, or if needed, we operate them on an ongoing basis, integrated into our managed operations service.
